In this short film, award-winning local filmmaker Jose Muniain and writer Brian Broome tackle the misconceptions our society perpetuates about race and how those misconceptions can lead to conflict, violence, and even death. America’s racial myths and misconceptions are explored in GARBAGE through the interactions of a young Black man and his white teacher.

On Thursday, December 17 @ 7 PM (EST), the Carnegie Mellon International Film Festival will emulate their in-person festival events by hosting a FREE Live Discussion on Zoom with director Jose Muniain and screenwriter Brian Broome to discuss the film.
