Ai Weiwei–provocative Chinese artist and political activist–aims to make human rights personal, to inspire viewers to take action both home and abroad. But where to begin? It starts with a simple and direct expression of empathy: the sending of a postcard. In his career defining exhibition at Alcatraz, @Large (2015), the artist featured portraits of prisoners of conscience coupled with the opportunity to write letters of solidarity to the imprisoned. The documentary follows these postcards around the globe—from Alcatraz Island to Beijing, Washington, D.C., and Cairo—as Director Cheryl Haines meets with former prisoners of conscience, including American whistleblower Chelsea Manning, to discuss their impossible choices and the comfort they found in each letter. AI WEIWEI: YOURS TRULY is a call to action: visually impressive and uplifting, this film is a celebration of freedom of speech, human rights and the power of art.

After your ticket purchase, you have THREE day to enjoy.
