In the coolest ‘90s French Film you haven’t seen, Oliver Assaya meditates on the state of French Film in Irma Vep. The plot follows a Chinese actress, Maggie Cheung, recruited to play the lead in a remake of Les Vampires. On set, Maggie experiences petty actors with clashing egos and being sexualized by the cast and crew, including the director. Eventually, the line is blurred between Maggie and her role as a crook.
